Spars

Spars or internal ribs or stiffeners are used in Airfoil blades to reduce stresses (increase rigidity).

Centrix calculates the distance between the upper and lower surfaces of the airfoil blade and estimates the number of spars (maximum 4) that can be fitted based on the minimum gap value in the configuration database (Options - Configuration - ID 33).

The number of spars drop down box is filled from 0 spars up to the maximum of 4 spars and can change as the blade thickness changes.

It should also be remembered that a reasonable distance must be allowed between the spars for stresses to be influenced.
