Limiting Speed Solutions

Centrix will give a warning when the shaft rpm approaches 90% of the limiting speed for grease.

Roller bearings have the lowest limiting speed.

1) Reduce the shaft diameter.

2) Change the bearing to a ball bearing (Lower life)

3) The free bearing can be changed to a Carb bearing (SKF supply only).

4) For overhung applications try using a small roller bearing at the drive end and a ball or carb bearing at the impeller end (fix the drive end).

If the shaft is above 90% of the limiting speed but below 100% then you can still use grease lubrication but the pedestal should be machined flat. You should also contact your bearing supplier regarding grease recommendations. Careful assembly is critical.

If you have tried all other solutions and cannot get away from the problem contact your bearing supplier. He may be able to offer an oil lubricated housing.
