Coupling Selection
Centrix automatically selects a coupling based on torque requirements, speed, shaft diameters and service factors.
You can type new requirements if desired at the top of the form and press 'NEW' but this is not usually necessary.
Centrix will attempt to select one of the taper lock couplings if available. If a taper lock coupling is not available it will select a bored to size coupling from the top grid.
Details of the selected coupling are shown at the bottom of the form.
Clicking on a different row of the grid will automatically enter the details in the boxes.
All couplings shown in the grid will meet the criteria specified.
You can type your own values into the selected boxes if required then click the OK button to accept them and exit the coupling selection form.
Note that values typed into the boxes will NOT be remembered by the coupling selection form. The coupling selection form will always select the first available coupling in the grid.
Once a coupling has been selected it is bypassed by the next and back buttons. This preserves any manual coupling selection entries.
If you want to change the coupling selection use the 'View-Coupling' menu.
