Arrangement 1 & 3
Use the drive arrangement form to set the motor position and calculate the belt centres.
Note that the motor is always shown with the terminal box on the side
Centrix does not select drive pulleys. Most manufacturers will be using a third party program such as Fenner Select to obtain pulley sizes and belts.
If you are producing detail drawings then you should make your belt selection now.
It is most likely that your pulley selection will result in different belt centres to that calculated by Centrix. You can type in the new centres and calculate a new gap or take up allowance.
Belt drives tend to stretch during the tensioning procedure and after the first 100 hours of running. There must be adequate take up allowance to take up the slack and obtain the correct belt tension otherwise belt slip and squeal will occur.
Centrix will calculate the recommended take up allowance and highlight it if there is a shortfall. You can adjust the motor position on the slide rail as follows.
Select the Installation/Take up option.
Type in a new value into the green Gap box and press the calculate button.
Sometimes both the installation and take up allowances are highlighted. In this case you could try another slide rail supplier (they are often different) or sacrifice some installation allowance. It is usually possible to install belts by using some slight levering of belts over the pulleys but if you run out of belt tension allowance you will be in trouble.
*.bgd File (Belt guard file)
The Channel Size selected by Centrix can be manually changed by the user if desired by selecting from the drop down box.
Click 'NEXT' to proceed (automatically writes a belt guard file.
