Casing Options
Displays the flange and foot sizes and provides some casing options for the user to choose from.
The user can change any of the sizes and materials in the boxes (when enabled - green).
Rear Withdrawal :
Applies to single width, overhung fans only. It enables the motor, drive and pedestal to be removed from the back of the casing with the impeller still fastened to the shaft. A circular plate is bolted to the casing drive side to permit removal.
Centrix does not provide detail design information for this option but makes an allowance for additional material, design and labour cost in the price. Configuration of factors is available in the Prices Utility program.
Flanged Inlet :
By default Centrix assumes that the fan will have a spigot inlet. Check this box to include a flanged inlet in the pricing and weights.
Split Casing :
Centrix will automatically split the casing when the size is greater than specified in the configuration database - see Options-Configuration menu (Config ID = 21). You can manually split the casing and select the number of casing splits. 1 split is taken to be a horizontal split across the full width of the casing. Additional splits are taken to the centreline only so that they are removable wedges. Centrix allows for the additional weight and costs associated with adding these splits. The detail drawing module however only provides facilities for a single split across the casing (or a single wedge if required by the handing).
Spigot Outlet:
Check this option if you want the fan to have a spigot outlet instead of the usual bolted flange. Centrix will automatically select a stiffener and position it the default distance (25 mm) back from the outlet. Costing is adjusted. The dimension sketch will show an outlet spigot instead of the flange drilling detail. The default distance can be manually changed in the dimension sketch to suit each fan. The default distance can be set in the Options-Configuration menu (Config ID = 39)
